Nutritional Information

Found in the North West Atlantic in deep waters.

Scallops are often soaked in a phosphate solution that whitens them and makes them absorb more liquid, increasing their weight by as much as 30 percent. These are 'dry' scallops, net weight 900g

Thaw frozen scallops overnight in the fridge. Don't use a microwave and don't thaw them at room temperature. In a pinch you can defrost frozen scallops by sealing them in a plastic zipper bag and running cold (not warm or hot) water over them

Serving Suggestions

Try Scallops With Lime and Ginger

  1. Heat the defrosted scallops in a heavy pan with a little oil, preferably rapeseed oil as this withstands very high heat without burning
  2. Cook for 2-4 minutes turning until golden brown
  3. In a jar add 60ml of  olive oil, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, 1 tablespoon of crushed ginger, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves and 1/2 a tablespoon of honey. Shake well
  4. To serve pour over the scallops

huge ! better than fresh scallops!!

Amazing!  ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭

These scallops are amazing. They cook perfectly and have lots of flavour. The scallops are huge but the quality is superb, light and succulent. They are always on my shopping list when ordering from Ocean Classic. I also love the fact that I can pick a delivery date to suit.

Excellent for stir fry and Thai curry dishes  ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭

This is now a "must-have" in my freezer. Never come across scallops as big as these ones in ordinary supermarkets. They hold their size well even when they are cooked. I have used them in stir fry scallops and Asperegus with oyster sauce; various Thai curry dishes. Always manage to impress!

Wow!  ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭

Amazing, huge and delicious. A real show stopper for a dinner party.
